Panasonic Heat Pumps
The CO2 heat pump at the heart of our premium systems. Japanese-built, whisper-quiet, and the most efficient way we know to heat water.
Why we fit Panasonic
Panasonic build the CO2 compressor that sits at the heart of the systems we install most. It runs on R744 — plain carbon dioxide — rather than a synthetic refrigerant, and because it is a split system the unit sits outside while the tank goes wherever suits your place.
There are two outputs. The 4kW covers most Sydney households. The 6kW is for heavy back-to-back demand or a larger tank. Either one pairs with a glass-lined or stainless tank from 250L up to 400L.
Both run at 37 dB — about as loud as a quiet room — and keep working down to −10 °C, so a cold morning does not knock them out. Both the cylinder and the compressor carry a 10-year warranty.
The range
Heat pump units
Pick the output first, then the tank. Both units use the same natural CO2 refrigerant and the same Wi-Fi controller.
Tank options
Either unit pairs with any of these. Which one we recommend comes down to your household size and how close you are to the coast.
- Glass lined — 250L, 315L or 400L. The standard fit for most homes.
- Stainless steel — 250L or 315L. Better corrosion resistance, what we recommend near the coast.
- Wi-Fi controller — HE-1MAHR, for app control and solar PV timing.
Who it suits
Households that want the lowest running cost and are happy with a split rather than an all-in-one
Anyone siting the unit near a bedroom or a neighbour’s wall — at 37 dB it is the quietest thing we fit
Homes where mornings get genuinely cold and a lesser heat pump would fall back on its element
Government rebates
Panasonic CO2 systems qualify for STC and NSW ESC rebates. We take the rebate off the price we quote you and handle the paperwork.
